Went to Denver to attend CSNY concert and The Brown made the trip very special. The elegant hotel has original Tiffany glass, not to be missed high tea, incredible beds/pillows/linens, water from their own private artisian well, peaceful spa/salon, magnificent restaurants, prompt room service, fun bars, very clean old world rooms with crown moulding and vintage light fixtures. We found all the staff to be very friendly and exceedingly helpful. I would have been completely content to stay inside the hotel for the entire time but the location offers so much within walking distance. On the next corner is a beautiful stone/stained glass turn of the century Methodist church with a massive pipe organ. We spent a very welcoming morning there. Also a block away is 16th Street - which is a pedestrian only - long stretch of shops, restaurants, street vendors (had the best time haggling over great knock-off purses). A free hop off/on trolley runs the entire length for those tired moments. Also had several great nights in LoDo (Lower Downtown), again another collection of clubs, restaurants, shops - we walked but you must be in the right shoes and frame of mind. Truly a thriving downtown, streets full of people even at 2am. Used our rental car, since we had one to drive to Red Rock Amph. for the concert, and went to visit Buffalo Bills Museum & Memorial. Fun side trip. The Brown's valet was always prompt with the car. The only negatives: no pool, valet is a heady $24/day, small bathroom. We overcame the $ by purchasing a hotel package that included the cost of parking the car, breakfast for 2 (room or restaurant), wine, & grats. I will never consider staying any where else in Denver. It was truly the most memorable stay. You can find plenty of cheaper/big name/Americanized hotels but here you will understand why you work hard to play this wonderfully. If you are looking for old world elegance with modern service this is YOUR PLACE. A smile will stretch across your face the minute you enter the lobby and remain there until you leave to go home.

This historic hotel deserves the praise that it gets! Not only is it beautifully maintained (over 100 years old), but the service is outstanding. They will accomodate your every need, and the concierge is especially helpful if you are new to Denver. I do think it is important that people know that the rooms vary dramatically in layout. We had family staying in all different rooms at the hotel and some were larger and in a little better condition than others. Keep in mind, it is still an old hotel! If you have any issue with your room, make sure you let them know, they will gladly take care of it. But the decor in all the rooms was BEAUTIFUL, especially the fixtures. The beds are wonderful! And the food, at all the restaurants, was great, too! Make sure you take a peak at the ballrooms if you get a chance, they are marvelous.

Would I stay at this location again: most likely

I stayed at this hotel for two nights while attending a wedding at the Hotel. This was my first time in Denver. We took the Super Shuttle from the airport. It was very quick and we were dropped off right in front of the hotel. From the moment we arrived we received excellent service. We were helped with our bags, all the staff was very helpful with questions about the surrounding area, the maid service came twice a day (evening turn down service). The hotel lobby is very beau+tiful with a stained glass roof. We ate at the Ship's Tavern where our food was undercooked. We mentioned it to the server and they discounted our meal and offered us free dessert. We also had breakfast in our hotel room. It was a very overpriced breakfast at $50 for two. The second morning we tried the Delectable Egg around the corner which had much better food at a reasonable price.

The hotel was very charming and the room was about average size. We had a King Deluxe room and the bed was very comfortable. The bedding was luxurious and the air conditioning worked great as it was near 100 when we were in Denver. We had a room off of the main lobby so noise was not a problem for us. The hotel is old and you can tell if you look really close at the wall paper and at the bathroom tiles. I would agree with the former comments that if you were looking for ultra modern like an Omni this might not be the place for you. They had great amenities in the bathroom and the shower had good water pressure. I would definately stay here again.

The workout facilities were great and the afternoon tea looked fun even though I didn't try it.

I stayed at The Brown for 4 nights beginning June 8.2006. This was not my first stay. Everything has always been perfect. The staff has fulfilled every request. The bed and bath linens are beyond compare. The evening turn down service is so lovely. The staff is courteous and well informed. ( I don't care to have people fawning over me). The service has always been first class when I have stayed there. The Brown Palace is unique and once you have stayed there you can't go anywhere else. When staying there, I can relax as I can at no other hotel. When traveling, I find you attract the kind of attitude that you give off. I always expect the best at The Brown Palace and I receive it.
